PartyTime. Where’s the Music?
I’m having my annual birthday party on Friday. It’s called DanielFest, because my name is Daniel. I am worried about the DJ. Last party we had was great: my roommate’s friend from Brazil was staying with us, and he was a DJ: he had some professional DJ equipment and a professional audio mixer. He brought the house down.

Professional Audio Mixer Etiquette
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newcomer to the world of DJing, there is a certain set of universal principles that one should follow when on the job. To help you avoid common mistakes, here are the basics on dealing with other DJs.

3) If you’re coming on after another DJ, it’s also a good idea to enter the booth about 5-10 minutes before your scheduled start time, introduce yourself, and let them know what your expected start time is. If there is a conflict with times, don’t argue, just find the promoter and have them sort it out.
4) Even though you’re the most amazing DJ to ever touch a professional audio mixer, it’s always a good idea to watch what the previous DJ is doing for 20-30 minutes and feel out the crowd’s vibe.

The dance system: a 24-foot horizontal array of custom-designed speakers. Each five-way features 24-inch and 15-inch drivers in a line spaced with minimal interference or cone filtering; bass is supplied by the same JBL VerTec VT4888 subs. Power is via Crown I-Tech 4000/8000 amps with built-in DSP.
Damn.
