PartyTime. Where’s the Music?
I’m having my annual birthday party on Friday. It’s called DanielFest, because my name is Daniel. I am worried about the DJ. Last party we had was great: my roommate’s friend from Brazil was staying with us, and he was a DJ: he had some professional DJ equipment and a professional audio mixer. He brought the house down.
Needless to say, he’s back in Brazil and I’m worried. Now, I don’t have the scrills to hire a DJ with professional DJ equipment or Behringer pro audio. And goodness knows that I’m no DJ, and I don’t want to have to stand in front of my computer mixing all evening. So I don’t know what to do.
On one hand, I could make a playlist. But then I subject myself to choosing music that not everyone will like, and it will influence the party negatively, and I will be a laughingstock for having a bad party and no one will want to come next year.
On the other hand, I can use one of those websites that play music, but then I run the risk of songs that are cheesy, of hearing songs I don’t like, and worse, commercials, and that is the last thing I want when I’m at a party.
What should I do?
