Think You Don’t Need Radar Detectors? Think Again.

car stereo amplifiersBefore I visited my friend in Texas, I scoffed at his radar detector. Why don’t you just drive safely, I wondered, smirking at his gleeful drawl as he stood telling me about his newest, most accurate device.

When I visited him, however, and we took a road trip from Austin to Dallas, I began to understand. There were cops everywhere, the big, aviator-wearing, ten-gallon hat, stereotypical Texas sheriffs, and they are waiting for you.

In Austin was a nine-story high poster with three officers staring at you and the thousands of others that pass down the interstate. The caption read, “We’re Watching You.” Tyler, my friend, told me horror stories of cops pulling over kids and searching their cars without warrants, eagerly intimidating young folks with the law behind them.

After that trip, I became a little more wary of driving anywhere. I decided to invest in a radar detector of my own. Along with car stereo amplifiers, I decided to buy a Radar Pack to help me stay safe. Because, let’s face it, it’s easy to go a little faster than you’d like when you’re listening to your favorite tunes from your car stereo amplifiers and you aren’t necessarily paying attention to cops.

So either turn down your music bumping from the speakers you bought at the last car stereo sale, or invest a few dollars in a radar detector.
