Bicycle Speakers
The spring,
while the air is still crisp but the sun is bright, is prime bike riding time. I once had a friend who was an avid cyclist. She had boundless energy and was motivated not just by the adrenaline thrill you get from riding on it’s own but also from the fantastic music playlists she piped in through her stereo earphones.
One day she got a ticket for wearing her headphones as it lead her to disrupt traffic. Her lesson was learned and luckily it was not the hard way. Still, she desperately wanted to enjoy her tunes while she rode around the town. Luckily we scouted out some speakers made specifically for cyclists over at Crisp Deals. She could plug her iPod or iPhone right in and be cruising to her latest and favorite songs from Okkerville River and the Wrens.
It was no longer the intimacy of stereo earphones instead she could now feel comfortable riding her bike listening to the music but also being aware of what was happening on the road around her. Her safety was now in check without sacrificing the joy she got from riding. More than a compromise this was a win win for everybody involved!
