am eager to get into my car with the top down and cruise to one of my classic driving mix CD’s. For some, the ultimate road mix is usually a bunch of bass heavy rap tracks like “Ridin’ Dirty.” No doubt those songs sound amazing bursting out of a nice set of car stereo amplifiers and a subwoofer but for me I go down a mellower and more classic group of songs.

My ultimate driving mix definitely includes old time classics like Rodger Miller’s “King of the Road,” Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” and Bob Seger’s “Against the Wind.” Those songs beyond being perfectly on message as far as subject matter just feel like the American road opening up in front of you. You can put them on sitting at your desk at work and feel that sense of liberation that is perfect for getting behind the wheel.

I love the road and I love road music. That is why having the best of the best in car audio equipment is so important to me.
Of course these days the portable music medium of choice is the digital music file. With mp3 players like the iPod on the market you can have your whole music library at your finger tips at all times. This is also a valuable asset for people looking for music while on the road and luckily the Kenwood KMR-330 Marine CD receiver pictured here comes equipped with a front panel auxiliary input for your portable music player of choice. This means not only can you use it for your iPod you can also plug portable satellite radio players which have grown in popularity in recent years.

Those mp3s and satellite radio stations will sound incredibly impressive bursting out of car stereo amplifiers and your subwoofer while you cruise the steamy streets this summer. If you can not get the top of the line new stereo these Kenwood receivers are a great option for now.
